R.U.L.E. Residential, L.L.C. was established to meet the growing need for safe sex offender placement in the community.

The goal of the R.U.L.E. Residential Program is to protect the community and prevent future victims of sexual abuse.  We have identified the transitional period, when a sex offender is leaving a secure correctional facility to a new life in the community, as one of the most stressful and risky times for a parolee.  The R.U.L.E. Residential program provides adult male sex offenders a structured place to live as they make this difficult and complex transition from prison to an independent living situation. It is the goal of this program to assist these  men in finding self sustaining employment, achieve their educational goals, reintegrate into their families where possible, and develop healthy relationships and a strong support network, as they move toward the maintenance level in our RULE sex offender treatment program.

Herman House, a 6 bed residential facility provides housing and a supportive educational and therapeutic milieu for young adult sex offenders on parole in California.  The goal of this program is to integrate life skills training, educational services and job skills development in a therapeutic community setting that supports the sex offender treatment program it's residents are participating in.   This is facilitated in a positive living environment that provides these young men with an opportunity to transition back into society with new skills and knowledge to assist them in leading successful, offense free lives.

Each Resident enters the program voluntarily, with clearly defined expectations and personal goals.  The R.U.L.E. Residential Program counselors support the residents in acknowledging and addressing the issues facing them, teaching and modeling daily living skills, behavior management, dealing with familial and relationship issues, vocational/ educational opportunities, health education, and recreational activities.  Emphasis is also placed on residents’ character development, self-esteem, socialization skills, self-control, and clarifying values. Residents are encouraged and assisted in developing and implementing personal goals and learning how to network with appropriate community resources. Relapse Prevention strategies are most effective when a group of support persons, including family, friends, clergy, 12 step sponsors, employers, and probation/parole officers are knowledgeable about the patterns of relapse and can reinforce appropriate support and intervention, The R.U.L.E. Residential counselors assist residents in identifying these support persons and educating them about the resident’s Relapse Prevention Plan.
